Rapture Reality!

Home > Daily Word > Rapture Reality!

I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left. Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

Luke 17:34-36

The Lord is speaking of the rapture in these verses. The rapture is when Jesus comes into the earth’s atmosphere and calls out all Christians in the twinkling of an eye. I believe this event is rapidly approaching. The Lord will call out to all believers with the sound of a trumpet that will likely sound like a huge clap of thunder to nonbelievers. But to us, it will be the sweet melody of our Lord’s voice calling us Home. What a glorious day that will be!

However, for those who have thus far rejected Christ, the event of the rapture will be nothing less than horrifying. The event will shock the world, and effect every part of the earth. People will wake up to find their spouses and many of their friends and loved ones gone. Planes will crash from the sky, entire freeways will be closed on account of the vast number of crashed cars, millions will not show up for work, mail will not be delivered, patience in the hospital will vanish, baffling doctors and nurses, many members of government will not be found, and the people who remain will not hear the sound of the true church bells anymore; for the church will be with Jesus.

The event of the rapture will be sudden, shocking, and catastrophic for the unbelieving world. For the first month or so, everything will be chaos; but as time goes on eventually everyone will settle down and begin to go about their daily lives. The world rulers will likely explain it away by claiming that aliens have made contact with us, and have taken many of us back to their planet. Amazingly, many people (billions) will believe these sort of lies, and, they will be excited to think about what may unfold in the future.

However, there will be nothing good occurring on this earth in the seven years following the rapture. Well, there will be one good thing happening. Many people will remember their loved ones telling them about this from the Bible. They will realize what has really happened, and will confess that Jesus is Lord, and accept Him into their hearts as their Lord and Savior. During this time, there will be a soul harvest the likes of which the world has never seen. Millions will be saved. The Bible says that an innumerable amount of people will call on Jesus (Revelation 7:9-10).

This will indeed be the greatest outcry to God in the history of the world. However, while this great multitude will be saved, they must still go through the horrors of the seven year tribulation period that follows the rapture. The tribulation period will be the worst, most horrifying time the world has ever seen. God will be passing judgment on the whole world, and there will be many horrible plagues such as, famine (extreme shortage of food), violent earthquakes (nearly everywhere on the globe), war (between many nations mainly against God’s chosen people Israel), disease (many different types particularly large, oozing, and painful sores from head to toe), extreme heat (the sun will begin to put off intense heat, even to the point of scorching people’s skin),  large hail (about the weight of a talent which is 90 lbs), meteors and comets will hit the earth (killing a third of sea life and making the water of a third of the rivers deathly toxic), and signs in the sky (the sun, moon, and stars doing things never before seen).

In the midst of all this horror, the world will fall under the control of an evil dictator, or better said, THE EVIL DICTATOR (the antichrist). The antichrist will be a well known, and well liked world leader who will assume command of all global affairs. He will start off seeming to be very sincere and determined to help and unite the people of the world. However, he will become increasingly more questionable in his actions until finally he will show his true colors and begin a short but unimaginably brutal reign of terror.

Under the rule of this wicked one, nobody will be able to buy or sell anything, in any store or location without first accepting what is called in the Bible, THE MARK OF THE BEAST. This mark will be located on the hand or forehead of those who willingly accept it. It will likely be invisible to the eye, and have to be read like a bar code, with a hand heal scanner; just like the ones we see and use every day in almost every store. Those who accept this mark will be able to enjoy all the freedoms available. They will be able to buy and sell, work and get paid, and travel and interact with society. But, upon accepting this mark, they will have sealed their eternal fate forever. The Bible gives us one of the most startling and sobering warning for those who accept the mark of the beast. They will be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb (Jesus), and the smoke from their torment ascends forever and ever and they have no rest day or night (Revelation 14:9-11).

The reign of the antichrist will be particularly bad for both Israel, and those who have been saved. The antichrist will persecute them beyond measure, tracking them down, and having them publicly executed. The way of death in those days will likely be beheading. Every week, the news paper will have a section devoted to listing the names of all who had been executed that week. For the most part, all who take a stand to follow Christ will live the lives of fugitives in those days, hiding out in the mountains and caves, hunting for their own food, keeping guard at night, and trying to stay out of site, and as quiet as possible. Many will watch their loved ones die a martyr’s death; many will be beaten and tortured because of their testimony for Jesus. Many will be put through some of the worst forms of torture imaginable to cause them to renounce Christ; but God will strengthen them.

During the seven year tribulation, the world will undergo rapid decay. People will lose their love for one another, children will cause their parents to be put to death, friends will betray each other with fatal consequences, and helping people will be nearly unheard of. The reason for this spiritual decay is because both the Holy Spirit, and the church will not be present on this earth to keep love alive. The world will grow more and more evil until ultimately, there will be nearly no trace of love found anywhere.

The good news is, after the seven years are up, Jesus Christ will be seen coming in the clouds with power and great glory, and we (the church) will be with Him. He will destroy the antichrist and all of his followers, and set up the long awaited Millennial Kingdom of Christ; where Jesus will reign on His throne, and there will be true peace and love, and we (Christians) will reign with Him.

The bad news is, anyone who rejects Christ, will not be a part of this Kingdom; nor will they enter Heaven. They will be judged according to their lives, their punishment will be determined, and they will be cast into the lake of fire (hell) forever.

I know that last part was harsh but, it’s the Truth. Jesus died and rose again for our sins so that we could be with Him forever. We do not deserve His love, but He offers it anyway. If people reject the only way of salvation, then there is no hope for them. God has done everything that can be done and then some to win people’s hearts. If they go to hell, it is because they chose their sin over the Savior.

Friends, the reality of the rapture and the seven year tribulation period will soon become a historical fact. I pray that you will turn from your sins, and call on Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior so that you will be called out at the rapture, and not have to endure the horrors of what is coming on this earth.
